Inside Tiffany & Co.’s BOTANICA Launch with BlackPink’s ROSÉ

TOKYO, JAPAN: ROSÈ – one quarter of K-pop’s extraordinarily successful girlband BLACKPINK – lifts the ivory train of her gown as she saunters her way through the gala guests and palatial polished hardwood halls of the 100-year-old Tsunamachi Mitsui Club in Minato-ku on Tuesday evening.

With its Georgian interior and ornate archways bathed in blue lights, the stately Josiah Conder-designed venue is aptly playing host to Tiffany & Co.’s annual high jewelry Blue Book collection launch, BOTANICA. The third and final chapter will see Tiffany & Co.

artisans bring new life to timeless botanical motifs from the brand’s archives, drawing inspiration from wisterias, magnolias and orchards, in addition to Jean Schlumberger’s masterpieces.

As a string quartet played by the garden fountain, ROSÉ posed for pictures wearing an immaculately intricate Schlumberger necklace, in all its 18K gold and platinum diamonds.

“Schlumberger said, ‘A piece is not finished until it’s worn,” Chief Gemologist and Vice President at Tiffany & Co. Victoria Wirth Reynolds told GRAZIA. “It’s really transformable… Jewellery is very personal. It represents a special moment in time. That then stays with you for the rest of your life.”

“When you have a Maison like Tiffany & Co. which is 185 years old, you have this wealth of things that you can pick and choose from,” she continues. “We then have a design team that is literally extraordinary.”

Extraordinary indeed. As Tokyo opened its borders to tourists once more, guests – which included media, clients and KOLs from seven different countries – mingled in nooks of the candlelit estate before being seated in its ballroom.

As dinner was served (caviar dressed in gold, anyone?) so too were the diamonds with models walking in between tables wearing pieces from the new BOTANICA collection.

While model Ayaka Miyoshi sparkled on the blue carpet in a pendant and ring from the 2022 Tiffany Blue Book Collection and a platinum diamond bracelet, she surpassed ROSÉ as the woman of the night as she took to the runway in Tiffany & Co.’s 80 ct diamond necklace

The breathtaking, flawless oval diamond is very rare, and was responsibly sourced in Botswana in Africa, a symbol of Tiffany & Co.’s industry-first approach to diamond traceability.
