Miley Cyrus’s Sister Responds to Liam Hemsworth “Flowers” Theories

Ever since Miley Cyrus released her latest single “Flowers” on January 13, fans have been buzzing about the cryptic lyrics of the song and the accompanying video, speculating whether or not the song is about Miley’s marriage to Liam Hemsworth. Now, one of Miley’s sisters is weighing in on the fan theories and whether or not there’s any grains of truth to the many TikTok detective findings.

Miley’s older sister Brandi talked about the single on her podcast Your Favorite Thing, which she hosts alongside Wells Adams. While addressing the fan theories and rumors, Brandi stuck to equally cryptic allusions at first. “The song did come out on his birthday — was that on purpose? I don’t know, can’t say,” said Brandi. “Genius though.”

Brandi then went on to acknowledge — and applaud — the passion of Miley’s fans for attempting to crack the case. “I love Miley fans so much, they go hard in the paint,” said Brandi. “The fans on TikTok just keep creating narrative after narrative and it is so funny. It makes Miley seem like an absolute genius, and it’s just too good. Everyday I wake up to a new one.”

The actress, DJ, and podcast host continued, seemingly enjoying the many theories: “The narratives are… hilarious. It’s the best PR that could ever happen because it gets people talking about the song on TikTok, and it’s everywhere. And it’s just so fun to watch it all play out. Miley fans, I love ya.”

However, Brandi could not deliver an answer to the million-dollar question: is “Flowers” about Liam? Sister loyalty means no confirming or denying, and keeping any further details about the new track under wraps. “I’m letting this play out,” said Brandi. “Only Miley knows the truth.”

ICYMI: to say there are a plethora of theories about “Flowers” and Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s marriage is a massive understatement. Some of the most popular theories claim that “Flowers” is a lyrical response to the Bruno Mars song “When I Was Your Man,” which apparently held significance for the couple (As pointed out by Glamour, fans allege that Liam once dedicated the song to Miley).
