Ariana Grande for UK Vogue: Singer’s ‘natural’ cover look praised

Ariana Grande’s stunning new look on the cover of British Vogue was praised by her fanbase on social media. The American singer, 24, looked virtually unrecognisable as she forewent her signature high ponytail and glamorous coat of make-up while fronting the popular fashion bible. With her luscious newly-dyed blonde locks loose and wavy along with a simple coat of make-up emphasising her freckles, Twittersphere went into meltdown as they rejoiced over her ‘natural’ look.

First gaining prominence as a Nickelodeon teen star, Ariana quickly made the hugely popular metamorphosis to a hot songstress. Known across the globe for her sleek, high ponytail, heavy make-up look and hot ensembles, Ariana’s new look on British Vogue got people talking. The Problem songstress gave the camera a sultry glance as she showed off her naturally sun-kissed features, which were framed with her tumbling side-parted blonde locks – driving people wild as they took to social media:

‘She looks SO different!’ and ‘They just did a natural makeup on her. She looks amazing!’ ‘Honestly didn’t realize this was Ariana Grande on the cover of British Vogue for a full minute.’ ‘Seriously though her signature pony tail at this point makes her look like a baby. This is a beautiful photo!’ ‘Amen, Loving her hair in a new style and just down, she looks amazing.’

‘Why does ariana grande not look like ariana grande on the new british vogue cover?’ ‘She looks so much better without all the makeup. Just like the @xtina natural look photo.’ ‘Ariana Grande with Vogue magazine photoshoot are so stunning and even her hair down it’s looks good. snapped this photoshoot so hard to blessed us.’

A natural brunette, Ariana went blonde with the help of hair stylist Chris Appleton for the interview, while her barely-there makeup was executed to perfection by Mark Carrasquillo. Meanwhile, during the interview Ariana revealed the Manchester Arena bombing left her with PTSD and she didn’t think she would be able to talk about it without bursting into tears.

The pop star had just finished performing on stage in on May 22 last year when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device, killing 22 people. Grande told British Vogue about coping with symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder following the attack. She said. ‘It’s hard to talk about because so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss. But, yeah, it’s a real thing. ‘I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of it as well.

‘I check in with Millie [Robson, 15 at the time, left with shrapnel in her legs] often on Twitter. ‘Almost every word brings fresh tears. Time is the biggest thing. I feel like I shouldn’t even be talking about my own experience – like I shouldn’t even say anything. ‘I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry.’

Last month Grande revealed a tattoo tribute to the victims of the bombing. She shared a picture of a bee inked behind her left ear, alongside the caption ‘forever’, which was accompanied by a cloud emoji. The worker bee is an emblem for Manchester, symbolising the city’s industrial past.
