They share a love of the designer’s clothes. So Scarlett Johansson and her French husband Romain Dauriac both turned up in outfits by Tom Ford at his Autumn/Winter 2015 Womenswear Collection Presentation at Milk Studios in Los Angeles on Friday. The 30-year-old actress glistened in a gold sequinned mini-dress with a boat neck and long sleeves that hugged her beautiful, post-baby body like a second skin.
She teamed the shimmering dress, which featured a zip that started at the back of her neck and wound around to her tummy, with black, strappy, platform sandals. The colour complemented her partially buzz-cut blonde hair that she slicked back, giving a perfect view of her expertly applied make-up. Romain looked elegant in a black moire jacket with the watermarks brought out by the bright lights.
The journalist also wore a crisp white dress shirt without a tie, black trousers, a black cummerbund and black patent leather loafers. The 32-year-old appeared to have taken a leaf out of his wife’s book as his thick hair had also been completely buzz cut and he sported designer stubble and a moustache. The couple tied the knot October 1 at The Ranch at Rock Creek in Philipsburg, Montana, a month after announcing the birth of their daughter, Rose Dorothy.
But her new role as a mother isn’t slowing down Scarlett’s career. The Iron Man and Avengers star has put together an all-girl group to perform what she calls ‘super-pop,’ according to Rolling Stone on Friday. The Singles features guitarists Holly Miranda, Kendra Morris and Julia Haltigan with Este Haim on drums.
Scarlett said she was influenced by Grimes, the Bangles and the Go-Go’s, adding: ‘I wanted it to be like those bands: ultra-pop but also a little ironic, a little in on the joke.’ They have already released their first single, Candy, which Rolling Stone described as ‘a three-minute electro jam.’ The Lucy star has also been rehearsing for her appearance as a presenter at the Academy Awards ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday evening.
