The pressures of being the youngest person to ever host the Oscars must have gotten to Anne Hathaway’s wardrobe last night at the 83rd Academy Awards.
With no less than eight outfit changes, she didn’t leave much room for fashion disappointment. Rachel Zoe helped her change from a vintage Valentino to an Aetelier Versace couture, among other things. Even though she didn’t break any rules, she talked about enough famous designers that she could have won an Oscar herself.
1. Valentino
Arriving on the arm of the designer, Anne arrived on the red carpet in a red Valentino gown – from the label’s couture archive, no less.
2. Givenchy Couture
Taking to the stage to kick-start the ceremony, Anne chose an ivory chiffon gown with crystal embellishment by Givenchy Couture.
3. Lanvin
From Goddess to guy, a quick change into a le smoking-style tuxe from Lanvin and crystal Brian Atwood pumps broke up Anne’s gaggle of gorgeous gowns (albeit briefly).
4. Vivienne Westwood
Back to the ballgowns – Anne slipped into a black corset feather-printed tiered dress by Vivienne Westwood for her third look.
5. Oscar de la Renta
He was missed on the red carpet last night, but Anne championed the iconic American designer in a metallic gold form-fitting dress with flapper-style fringing (which she demonstrated with a shimmy).
6. Atelier Versace
Back to red – this time wine coloured – in a strapless floor-length gown with embellishment across the bodice by Aetelier Versace
7. Armani Prive
Swapping shimmer for simplicity, Anne changed into a gloss-finished cobalt blue column dress by Armani Prive for her penultimate look.
8. Tom Ford
In the ultimate show-stopper, a high-necked, long-sleeved black lace with heavy crystal embellishment by Tom Ford finished Anne’s final look of the evening.
