Anne Hathaway and Salma Hayek board Netflix’s Seesaw Monster adaptation from Bullet Train author Kotaro Isaka

The 2019 book Seesaw Monster by Kotaro Isaka will be turned into a movie with Anne Hathaway and Salma Hayek in the lead roles. Netflix bought the movie rights, and Olivia Milch (Ocean’s 8) will adapt the book into a screenplay. Anne Hathaway and Salma Hayek will produce, according to line.

It doesn’t have a director yet, but it follows the success of Bullet Train, which was based on Isaka’s 2010 novel Maria Beetle. The 2019 book Seesaw Monster by Kotaro Isaka will be turned into a movie with Anne Hathaway and Salma Hayek in the lead roles.

Netflix didn’t say much about the plot, but they did say that it was a “action-comedy two-hander” in which Hathaway and Hayek play rivals who have to work together. At this point, there is no set schedule for making the project, and it’s not clear how many more roles need to be filled.
