The Idea of You, a movie based on a fan story by Harry Styles, will star Anne Hathaway.
The upcoming movie version of The Idea of You, a popular fan-fiction book that many people think was inspired by Harry Styles, will star Anne Hathaway. The story is about a divorced mom who falls in love with a pop star at a music festival.
The movie will be based on Robinne Lee’s 2017 book of the same name. Michael Showalter will direct and co-produce it. The 39-year-old star of “The Devil Wears Prada” will play Sophie, a “40-year-old single mother.” Dan, Sophie’s husband, left her for a younger woman, and now he has cancelled their 15-year-old daughter’s trip to Coachella. Sophie puts the pieces back together and faces the crowds and heat of the desert. A press release says that she meets Hayes Campbell, who is 24 and the lead singer of the best boy band on the planet, August Moon.
Fans think that the romance book was inspired by Harry because Hayes is a young British musician who is the lead singer of his band, just like the former One Direction singer. Harry and Hayes both like Olivia Wilde, who is 10 years older than them.
Aside from its connection to a famous pop star, the author made it clear that she wants readers to pay more attention to the story of a woman who is trying to find herself after her marriage has ended.
In an interview with Vogue in December 2020, Robinne said, “This was never meant to be a book about Harry Styles.” “It was supposed to be a story about a woman getting close to 40 who reclaims her sexuality and rediscovers herself at a time when society usually gives up on women as desirable, viable, and whole.”
The Idea of You will be made by Anne, Robinne, Cathy Schulman, Gabrielle Union, Kian Gss, Eric Hayes, and Jordana Mollick. Jennifer Westfeldt will be the film’s executive producer. Production is set to start in October, but there is no date for the movie’s release yet.
